President's Message |
Hope everyone is in good health and surviving this bitterly COLD month of January. I missed the auction because I was down with the flu, but I heard it was a big success. We don't really have a lot to talk about this month but we will be getting reports on the auction. We will talk about the club social that takes place in March. The night for this social will be March 23rd. So mark your calendars! We'll get the specifics from Bob Brodeur who is in charge of this function. I have been in touch with the Quiet Flyers president and they have accepted our old shelter for their flying site. We will be putting a work party together in the spring to make this happen - more on this in the spring. Since all the new club officers and their e-mail addresses are listed, I have received e-mail from several people trying to get membership details on our club. I have replied to all and explained about the cap on our membership and recommend that they get on our waiting list. At the last officer's meeting, membership was discussed and we have some openings. We will fill these openings from the waiting list sooner than expected. Kip is doing a great job with the web site. He hopes to have it completed soon. I have received e-mails from 2 R/C clubs giving me their auction dates. Check in the Swap Shop and on the Coming Events web page for details. Don't forget to bring a model or your latest project in progress. Everyone really enjoys it, and it certainly can help others develop new ideas and skills! At the next meeting, we will be having a surprise demonstration! Make the meeting and check it out!!! -- Harry Peters Jr. |

"F-F-F-F" Roaring Success |
| This year's Frozen Finger Fun Fly sponsored by the Flying Eagles may have been the best yet! The weather was great, and the snow perfect. Everyone seemed to have a great time. We had 16 planes entered in the SPORT class, and 8 in the FUN-FLY class. Five local RC clubs were represented.
Judi Easton and Shirley Webster served hot stew, coffee, cocoa, brownies and ice cream. Thanks to the Snowbirds Skimobile Club the field had been groomed to perfection for Saturday. The fun fly included three events; Roops, Puddle Jump, and a Slalom (taxi) event. The first two had a spot-landing component, and the slalom included a balloon break. A Roop is a loop followed by a roll and then a change of direction. A roll of the dice determined how many Roops the person had to do. The puddle jump resulted in a four-way tie for first place: Bob Brodeur, Jim Burns, Andy Farkas, and Sonny Martel. (All four flying SPORT airplanes) In the Slalom Event, there was a two-way tie for first: Jim Burns (FUN-FLY) and Adam Cursehdon (SPORT). The results for the Sport and Fun-Class overall were: SPORT
FUN FLY
It is interesting to note that the Sport planes out scored the Fun-Fly type aircraft. Just goes to prove you can have a good time without a trip to Florida - give it a try next year. -- Dick Easton |

Late Fees Start After This Coming Meeting |
| Don't Forget Fellas . . . your 2001 dues are payable. Everyone should have received a renewal form in the last Bullsheet. Note that late fees apply after the February meeting. More importantly, note that you will be dropped from the membership in May 2001 if dues are not paid. We have a waiting list to fill any open slots that show up in May, so don't procrastinate.
