President's Message |
|
It didn't take long for the field to dry out, we opened it the weekend following our last meeting. I made a call to R/C Buyers so they could let any members know the field status, and also called Kip Bean, who said he would post it immediately on the web site. The field looks great. The only thing it needs is the color green. We will talk about fertilizing the field at the next meeting. This is something we should do soon, maybe a weed and feed this time. I purchased the new BBQ grill at Sam's Club. This thing came in two boxes and I almost needed a crane to get them on my flat cart. It took a couple of balancing acts and a couple of cartwheels but I managed. Now, at the truck in the parking lot was another story . . . Huhhh - ahhh - owhhh - aaahhh, there take that. Got it home and into the garage. When was the last time you put a grill together? Even with the cordless drills and portable tools of today, it took a while, but boy was it worth it. We have a beautiful grill stainless steel hood, sides, doors, side trays, side burners. It has dual everything. Wait till you see it.!!! Got a little carried away there . . .enough about the grill. Jam night was discussed at the last meeting and we are going to try Wednesday nights and see how it works. I expect them to start real soon, so show up and have some fun. MOWERS NEEDED! See Ken Ux at the next meeting or call him at 603-429-1518 -- Harry Peters Jr. |

GLIDER CONTEST |
| On May 20th there will be a glider contest at Wagner Field.
This contest is co-sponsored by the SNHRCC and the Granite State Quiet Flyers (GSQF). Registration starts at 8am. First flight begins at 9am sharp. The field has been set aside for gliders only until 3pm. I know a lot of you have gliders and electric gliders, this will be a good day to bring them out(weather permitting). -- John Hayes (Contest CD) |

VEEP BEEP! |
| May is finally here and with it the long awaited flying season. Sadly for me a busy winter made for a very quiet hobby room and I find myself in a panic mode getting the fleet up to snuff.
I think everyone will be quite happy with our new addition to the field. Thanks to #1 (Harry) for picking up, assembling, and delivering the new grill to the field. When everyone sees this thing, you'll understand that was no easy task. Hopefully, the biggest use for the new grill will be Wednesday evenings. I'd like to see people show up with hot dogs, hamburgers, kielbasa, etc., do some cookin', flyin', chattin', and have a ball. If the interest is there, I would be more than willing to organize some sort of weekly competition such as the "Bezircus Circus" we did in the past. Input and suggestions will go a long way here guys (and girls). In closing, I'd like to remind the membership that an awful lot goes on behind the scenes when the only reward for the people involved is recognition for their efforts. That being said, many thanks to Darrell Wagner (again) for storing and servicing the mower, and returning it to the field. Many happy landings . . . . . . . . . . -- Rich Kelley (VP) |

THE FIELD IS OPEN! |
| Well this is what we were waiting for, Wagner Field is now open and operational as of April 14th. It appears to be in good shape at the end of the month, it is greening up nicely. It won't be long until the mowing will start. We are still in need of volunteers. There are a few places with some small holes. At least they are small to those of us that like the bigger planes to compliment our failing eyesight. If you like the little planes make sure you have a decent size wheel and it will improve your day out. I am sure this situation will get better as the season goes along. Already many of the surface stones noticed last year have begun to disappear. |
|
HOUSEKEEPING! |
| Some notes on field operations.
Please lock the outer gate, even if you find it open, after 3 PM on weekdays and any time on the weekends. The exception is unless people are actually working in the Town Yard. Please, we have no trash pickup at the field, so carry in and carry out everything- including cigarette butts. |
|
Short Hours - Great Pay! |
| We now have an awesome new field! The SNHRCC needs your help by volunteering to take a turn at mowing the field.
The club has over 100 members, if only half mow once a season everyone would have to mow once every other year! The club is very flexible, you can mow whenever you wish. See Ken Ux, Field Marshall, at the next meeting or call Ken at 429-1518. Don't be shy, we have a great mower and the pay is great. GREAT!!!. -- Ken Ux (Mowing Coordinator) |
|
SHOW & TELL! |
| Here are a few photos from the club's "Show and Tell " night where the members were showcasing their latest projects. Voting for best of various classes was done at the meeting and the results will be announced at this month's meeting.
