SNHRCC MEETING Sept 10th, 2002 Secretary and Treasurer's reports were read and accepted. Old Business: Rich McGuinness mentioned excellent response to combat event with many E-mail's thanking him for putting on a great event. Rich has asked for August 23, 2003 for next year's combat event providing it isn't a dump day. A motion was made to make August 23rd 2003 a combat day. The motion was passed. Rich Kelley mentioned the weight lift challenge. Bob Brodeur wanted to have all new aircraft. Maurice asked for committee to form the rules. Rich Kelley offered to run next year's event. Maurice recommended that a non-interested group make the rules. Several more people said they would participate next year. Maurce said a number of neighboring clubs might be willing to co-sponsor the event. Rich Kelley mentioned that he would run the contest and take responsibility for rules. Bob Brodeur said that in order to have other clubs co-sponsor will need to make presentations and come back to the club with the responses. Volunteers for a committee are Kip Bean, Clarence White, Rich Kelley and Norm Ellis. Ray said he thinks we need to announce the contest so people can begin construction. The committee will get back to the club next month. John Hayes presented the officers recommended changes changes in the bylaws and there was much discussion about not knowing about the changes before the meeting. A question was asked whether we could have a vote with the members present. Much discussion followed regarding the notification of the membership regarding a bylaws change. ARTICLE X Current wording A quorum shall be one-third (1/3) of the club membership. Change to: A vote was finally taken with 2 in opposition to change the quorum definition. The motion passed. ARTICLE Xlll Section I Current wording Admissions and Renewals 1. All new membership and late renewal requests will be presented at the next S.N.H.R.C.C.for review and vote. 2. Applicants may be granted a temporary membership at the discretion of the club officers that will be good until the next membership application review. If an applicant is denied membership, any dues paid will be refunded. Change to: Delete this section since we don't use or enforce it. A motion was made to delete Section one of article 13. The motion passed by a unanimous vote. Chuck Keller asked about installing a fence for Electric runway. It is unlikely that this will take place this year. Darrell announced the new runway will be closed for continued improvements and will be reopened next spring. Darrell propose that we do irrigation and explain the shallow well could be dug and piping can be donated. Club would have to purchase a generator to pump the water, Rich felt that this would be a major expenditure and require a great deal of work. The irrigation issue was put off to a later date. Hobby Highlights: John Hayes, following the meeting, presented a demonstration on vacuum bagging using a foam core with high-tech materials including fiberglass, carbon fiber and Kevlar. Next month will be the results of the demo. Upcoming events:
