President's Message |
Ok, who ordered the snow! I think most of us are tired of the fluffy white stuff. So how many of you have been out flying? How many people made it to this year's WRAM show? It would be great to share your experiences with the rest of the club on Tuesday night. The contest/event schedule is filling up nicely. I'm encouraging the membership to come forward with any events you'd like to hold this year. Looks like we're all going to have a great year. I've been looking into the possibility of having a Construction Derby again this year. Unfortunately, I cannot make it to this month's meeting, so I'll report on the Construction Derby next month. -- John Marien |

February Meeting Minutes! |

SNHRCC MEETING Feb 11th, 2002 Litchfield Middle School, Litchfield, NH Officers in attendance: John Marien, Roland Harmon, Kip Bean and John Hayes. Secretary and Treasurer's reports were read and accepted. Old Business: Maurice Terriault thanked Kip for his efforts in making up the easy-to-use Auction forms. It helped the auction move along quickly and effectively. John Marien thanked Darrell for being the auctioneer once again; the auction ended right on time. John Marien mentioned some of the upcoming events for the year, the Turkey Fly in November, Construction Derby, the day will be announced a later time. There will be a Glider Contest in June. The Weight Lift Challenge event will be held at the end of July. Rich Kelley asked to put on a Fun-Fly for the upper echelon flyers in September, Rich indicated that he did not wish to leave anyone out, but last time there were only 2 flyers in the novice class. The events he wishes to hold can be flown by anybody. John Marien reported that the Flying Tigers may have two entries for the Weight Lift Challenge. Andrzej Rutkowski made a motion for a mandatory five hours of work per year or a $25 fee in lieu of the work time. The funds gained from this $25 assessment for those who do not put in the time would go towards field maintenance. Maurice asked how get the $25 and the members and never come to meetings. Keeping track hours could be difficult. Chuck mentioned volunteers have worked in the past and not to change the way we do things. Darrell mentioned that volunteering couldn't be legislated successfully. A vote on the motion was taken with only one in favor, the motion was defeated. John Marien brought up the sound-issue. Asking that everyone pay attention to the sound that their planes are making and try and improve the noise level. John suggested that the club provide props for test purposes. Clarence said the 495th club uses a sliding scale for sound, he will provide info from the 495th club. John Marien will provide noise improvement information for posting on the Web and printed versions as well. Rich asked if the town has a noise ordinance. Darrell indicated that he would find out what the ordinance is, and report at the next meeting. Darrell suggested that the people provide their own props instead of the club. John Marien made a motion for 10 club props to be provided for testing. The motion failed. John Hayes brought forth the idea of a club knowledge pool; this would be a list of individuals willing to assist others with questions regarding various aspects of the hobby. A list of those categories was posted in the February Bullsheet. Some additional categories that were suggested are: Structures, Aerodynamics, Pattern, Water Flight, Backyard Electric, Sound, ARF's. -- John Hayes |
