A reminder that our 9th annual SNHRCC auction will be Tuesday, January 13, 2004. Still having a hard time thinking another year has passed. Now if only the time will go quickly and bring us into flying weather again.

In the meantime as you all start puttering around in your work shops, look around for those items that you no longer have any use for, can’t find the time to work on, or got duplicates of for Christmas. You don’t need to tell that it was a duplicate and we certainly won’t tell anyone. Just remember that if you can’t use it, someone else might be looking for just that item. So fill up your trunk, truck or van and bring your stuff to the auction.

A few words about the auction, called "Care and Treatment of your Auctioneer."

1. You don’t make fun of the auctioneers attire, including cowboy hat and boots.

2. You don’t heckle the auctioneer at any time at all no matter what he says to you.

3. You don’t whisper your bids, loud and clear, gentlemen, no matter what he is whispering about you.

4. No name calling, no matter what he calls you.

5. You don’t accuse the auctioneer of kickbacks, no matter how it looks.

6. You don’t harass the auctioneer, even if he does it to you.

7. You don’t try to bribe the auctioneer, no matter what he says to you.

8. You don’t try to pay with Monopoly money.

9. You don’t wave a sign stating, “Auctioneer unfair”.

10. And did I mention, don’t make fun of the auctioneer’s attire, no matter what he says about yours?

Enough said about the poor, mistreated auctioneer. Let’s have a good showing and bring lots of goodies to the auction. After all that’s what I’m there for and not getting paid! Oh, did I neglect to mention that I’ll be your auctioneer again this year?
