President's Message |
|
Wednesday Jam Night has been a big success. Our last Jam Night had so many members show up that we ran out of parking. We saw people that night that we haven’t seen all year and everybody was having a good time. It’s a good night to have fun, fly and joke around, lie to each other, play games and in general have a great club night. If you’ve never been to a Jam night, mark your calendar, too late for this year, but next year come on out and see what it’s all about. The field has been in terrific condition for flying and we owe a big vote of thanks to one member who has been keeping things going all year, Dave Redman. He’s been taking care of the field and runways, weed whacking, mowing and making the field something we can be proud of. He’s also been our chef and always the first to volunteer for anything that needed to be done. Dave is a dedicated member without whom we would have been lost. He’d get my vote anytime for modeler of the year. Dave came to us from the Barnstormers and we’re lucky he decided to join our club. By the way, Dave, who is that charming lady we see by your side so often? Just kidding, Mrs. Dave! We have always had a group of members who have been there when we needed work parties; maintenance and club activities and they all deserve a pat on the back. Remember that the September 14th meeting will be held at the school and not at the field. We would have liked to squeeze out one more meeting outdoors but at this time of the year, it gets dark too early and we wouldn’t want to lose any of you out there in the dark or miss your smiling faces. This is the time of the year when we start thinking about our winter projects and activities for the club. We need some input from all of you about what you’d like to have at your meetings. We want to keep our meetings interesting and informative so that you’ll highlight the second Tuesday on your calendars as a date you don’t want to miss. We still have some good flying days ahead, if the weather cooperates, so I’ll look forward to seeing you at the field. -- Darrell Wagner |

| Dave Redman and his wife Norma were at the field early on the day of the WeightLift Challenge. We want to thank Dave for all his many efforts to support the club during the course of this year. |

August 10th 2004 Meeting Minutes! |
|
SNHRCC MEETING August 10th, 2004 Location: Wagner Field, Hudson, NH Officers present: Darrell Wagner, Roland Harmon, Kip Bean and John Hayes. The Secretary and Treasurer's reports were read and accepted. Pete Reed provided a great Quickie 500 flight demonstration and presentation. He discussed the engines used and various construction techniques. Old Business: Shawn has produced 5 kits for the Construction Derby. He said he expected to charge $25 per team to cover the expense of the kits. Shawn took a few minutes to describe the event and mentioned there would be an inspection of the aircraft prior to flight. John Hayes made a motion to provide Shawn with $125 to cover the kit cost. The motion was passed. There was a decision to have no food available for the event, bringing a brown bag lunch seemed to be preferred. A motion was made to allot $300.00 for the event to cover prizes. Next months meeting will be indoors at the Litchfield Middle School -- John Hayes |
