President's Message |
|
Have you been up to the field lately? If you’re not looking up at the planes in the air, look out and around at the foliage. What a sight, what a view! Aside from a few windy days, the flying has been great, our field has never looked better, the days are crisp and inviting although by late afternoon it does get a little cool. A thermos of coffee can extend your flying time by at least a half hour. Try it, we don’t have that many more days left. Its nomination time again. Tuesday, the 12th is an important meeting so get your list of candidates for president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer ready. I won’t be running this time. I’ve had a good time as president, working with all of you but now I just want to sit back and relax. That’s not to say that I won’t still be adding my two cents worth from time to time and perhaps even throw in a heckle, but then would you expect less from me? I may not be at the meeting in November to vote, however, whomever you elect can count on me for support and help if it is needed. Enjoy these last days of autumn, winter is too long and too cold, even for those of us hunkered down in a warm work shop with our plans, planes, planning for Spring when we emerge again and take to the skies. See you at the meeting and for those I miss, have a happy Halloween. Do they make Red Baron costumes? Thought I’d shake them up at the hospital instead of appearing in the usual johhny. Have to keep those critical areas covered. -- Darrell Wagner |
