President's Message |

Point to Ponder - Everyone knows the meaning of the definition of a good landing is one from which you can walk away from. But very few know the definition of a great landing. It is one after which you can use the airplane another time. Anyone else have a bad case of cabin fever? It’s March and I’m tired of the snow and cold. It just has to break soon. The other day Norma had to stop me from going out to start the snow blower as it didn’t snow the night before for once. Well maybe if we start to dust the planes off and charge the batteries it will help to change the weather pattern. Hope to see you next Tuesday night. -- David Redman |

SNHRCC MEETING February 8th, 2005 Location: Litchfield Middle School, Litchfield, NH Prior to the start of the business meeting, Jim Thompson, of the 495th R/C Squadron provided a talk on electric AT-6 pylon racing. He spent time describing the motors, batteries, etc. used in the planes. He invited us to participate in the fun races for possible inter-club events. Officers in attendance: Dave Redman, Roland Harmon, Dave Beach, and John Hayes Secretary's and Treasurer's reports were read and accepted. Old Business: Dave Redman had received a letter from the Concord Skyhawks thanking us for our support towards securing their flying site. Shawn McCarthy asked why the auction was so poor. Maurice Theriault mentioned that the Concord auction was also off this year. People seem to not be doing auctions this year. General opinion was that auctions everywhere are down. Dave Beach followed up on the combat by announcing July 31, 2005 and Oct 30, 2005 for contests. Shawn said the construction derby would be on May 22, 2005. Five kits have been made up and there is no limit to the number of teammates. John Hayes reminded everyone present that the April meeting is also Show & Tell, hopefully everyone would be bringing in their winter projects. New Business: Dave Beach asked for any items that people knew of that ought to be added to the budget. A question of a printed Bullsheet was raised as well as a membership roster being made available. Dave Redman brought up field maintenance. Ray Breton said that 4 bags of fertilizer would be needed. Gas tanks for the gas grill will be replaced with refillable type, the Blue Rhino tanks will be scrapped as they are a premium price and can't be refilled. Harry Peters discussed that he wants to put 2 loads of gravel at the end of the parking lot to expand the parking and place landscape timbers along the pits to edge the parking lot. -- John Hayes |

For anyone who was intrigued by the AT-6 racing, I've copied a link from the website of the 495th R/C Squadron's so you can see some relevant information regarding getting your very own AT-6 in the air for this rapidly approaching 2005 flying season. There is quite a bit of information right on this one page toward outfitting a race ready AT-6. http://www.495thsquadron.org/Pylon_Racing.htm.
