Our newsletter has always been the important part of our club's communication link. It is the circulatory system, the arteries and veins, of our organization. But for the most part, the newsletter is unidirectional, a "one way street".
As you might have already noticed, for the month of December, it has been transformed into a two way communication medium!
A survey?
You might question the rational for it. The reason is very simple. This is your club. The officers want to "read the pulse" of the membership. The survey will provide valuable information to the officers, and the club, as we consider plans for the remainder of the year. So please respond in kind by filling out the survey and returning it by mail. You will notice that the survey is pre-stamped for your convenience. And do be candid! What do you like; what don't you like; and, offer any suggestions you have.
Congratulations are in order.
Our new vice-president, as of the November elections, is Kip Bean. Kip has been a key member of the club, over the past few years, supporting us as the newsletter editor. I'm sure I can speak for the other officers, when I say, we look forward to his inputs and contributions to our plans for a successful year.
Thanks to Maurice Theriault for supporting the club as the interim vice-president over the past few months. The club is very fortunate to have a member of his distinction. He is always there to serve; he is always willing to be involved in ways of improving our club.
It has now become a tradition to have a Yankee Swap at the December meeting. If you haven't been to one of the previous swaps you have missed out on some entertaining fun. There is always some item that catches the eyes of the members and gets many new, however, short-lived owners. So come and participate. But remember to bring a wrapped gift. The gift should be in the $5 to $10 price range, and preferably a hobby related item.
Thanks to Dave Muse for our last meeting's entertainment. Dave demonstrated the cutting of foam wing cores for a pattern ship. The hot-wire setup he demonstrated is his own creation. It worked very well. It's amazing what a little electricity, some templates and gravity can do. I should also mention Dave's able assistant Paul Dahlstrand for helping out with the demo.
Start looking around your shop for items you might want to auction off in January. It will be here before we know it. In closing, I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to fill out the survey and return it to the club.

SNHRCC Meeting Highlights
November 18, 1997 at Griffin Memorial School, Litchfield, NH
Officers in attendance: Bob Patukonis, Maurice Theriault, Dave Muse and John Hayes
Starting this month, the Secretaries report is reduced in content to give more of a summary of the previous meeting and hopefully give more space in the Bullsheet for other interesting model related topics. -- JLH
The subject of delinquent video tapes was brought up by Andrzej, suggesting we hold back issuance of membership cards from those individuals who haven' t returned tapes.
It was decided that a first course of action would be to contact the individuals by phone. Andrzej will get a copy of the club phone numbers and contact the individuals.
Bob Patukonis mentioned new shirt styles available from a book his company uses.
Bob Patukonis mentioned a questionnaire to be published soon in an attempt to gain member input.
Bob Patukonis mentioned the upcoming Yankee gift swap in December and in January the annual auction.
Maurice Theriault spoke about the project '97 mentioning that it will be any 1/2A plane of the builders choice. Some plan choices will be available at the December meeting, but participating members can choose whatever they want to build.
Bob Patukonis spoke about the status of the Bedford site stating there is a letter in Bedford refusing a variance allowing flying at that site. Bob Patukonis suggested we approach the land owner to see if he is willing to seek a variance at this new site to allow flying. If no property abutters complain then the site could probably be used.
Maurice Theriault through prior arrangements put Dick Easton in nomination for the VP slot.
Darrell Wagner then placed Kip Bean in nomination for the VP position, Kip accepted the nomination. Darrell then moved on to place Roland Harmon in nomination for the VP position, Roland accepted the nomination. Darrell made a motion to close nominations, seconded and passed.
The VP nominees were Dick Easton, Kip Bean and Roland Harmon.
Kip Bean won the election for the VP position. Darrell then made a motion to reelect the remaining current slate of officers by a single vote. The motion was made seconded and passed. The officers as of the Dec.ember meeting will be President Bob Patukonis, Vice President Kip Bean, Treasurer Dave Muse, Secretary John Hayes.
Next meeting in December will be the Yankee gift swap.
Hobby Highlights:
Dave muse with some help from Paul Dahlstrand provided a very good demonstration of precision foam cutting with lots of hints and kinks to the process.
