Who we Are

The Southern New Hampshire Radio Control Club, Inc. is a non-profit club chartered for the promotion of building and flying radio controlled model aircraft. In the mid-1960's, a small group of modeling enthusiasts got together to form the Southern New Hampshire Radio Control Club. Since then, the club has grown considerably. At the present time, our group has 85 members. The club operates a flying field in Hudson, NH at the old landfill site off West Road right beside Continental Paving. Map The SNHRCC offers free instruction in safe model flying to any member or to those seeking to enter the hobby. Our club is chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (Charter No. 408). Academy of Model Aeronautics membership is a prerequisite for club membership. Prospective members are first required to join the A.M.A. Please click on the AMA link to obtain a membership application from their website.

What we Do

The primary goal of the SNHRCC is to promote the building and flying of all types of radio controlled aircraft. Toward this end, beginners can find help with any aspect of this hobby and sport. Experienced members will willingly help the novice with advice on any phase of the hobby, from choosing the right kit and its compatible power plant and radio to installing the equipment properly and finally getting it safely in the air.

Where we Meet

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Litchfield Middle School on McElwain Drive in Litchfield at 7:30 PM. Summer meetings (June, July, August, and September) are held at our flying field. They begin half an hour early during the summer to allow a time of flying while the members are all together. Business meetings are usually kept short and are generally followed by "how-to" seminars or interesting guest speakers.

Where we Fly

The SNHRCC flying field (aka "Wagner Field") is located just off West Road on Old Landfill Road in Hudson, NH. Members are free to come fly their gas-powered models at any time after 10 am. Electrics and gliders can be flown anytime. For the beginner, instruction is available on Wednesday evenings and by appointment with any of our qualified instructors. Several times during the summer, "fun-flies" are held. These informal contests are set up so that beginners as well as experts can participate and win. All in all, the flying field is the center of club activities. A shelter is provided for those seeking relief from the hot summer sun or the occasional rain shower. Work tables are available for models requiring adjustment or minor repair. A system for controlling radio frequencies is in place to insure interference free flying. Field safety rules are posted to which all members are required to adhere.  Guest fliers are allowed on a limited basis.

Club Members!!!

The club has a rule in place that there will be no flying when the transfer station is open, in the past the transfer station was only open one Saturday per month. So we couldn't fly on that Saturday.

The town has changed the policy and the transfer station is open every Saturday morning till noon. What this means to us based on our own rules is that there is no flying on any Saturday morning.

Please take heed of this new change and wait to fly till after noon time.

We have made a special exception for the ALES glider event in September, participants in this event have been given special instructions regarding access on that Saturday, During this ALES contest weekend the field will be closed to power flight.

‚ÄčConcerning the dumping station at the bottom of the hill. Do not Dump Anything there. This is Illegal. The town takes this very seriously!!!!! We had this happen before in the past, the police got involved and the individual was facing criminal action.

The town allows us to use the site, the town can also take it away at a moments notice!

Our use of the site depends on keeping the outer gate locked at all times and the club policy is CARRY IN - CARRY HOME!! Anyone who dumps down below will forfeit their membership immediately!!

Thanks for your attention,
